This Eating Disorders Awareness Week (#EDAW), NEDA invites you to celebrate Strength through Experience and Knowledge by recognizing that It’s Time for Change alongside other mission aligned organizations.
#EDAW 2023 is an opportunity to center on lived experiences and eating disorder education, which are the essential catalysts for awareness and change. There are thousands of events taking place around the country – locally, nationally, and online! We encourage you to join NEDA with all our events, as well as the many other organizations who are participating in this vital work! And we wish to thank all the organizations who are out there advocating for change. It takes all of us to do this.
Change is not realized in a bubble or in an echo chamber. It’s made by the people who listen, who hold true to their values, and who work humbly, and tirelessly to do what’s right. Many of the real agents of change go unnoticed. They’re volunteers, clinicians, family members, friends… people who roll up their sleeves and get it done. So, this week, in addition to sharing lived experiences, NEDA will also be shining a light on our many volunteers – from our NEDA Walk Coordinators to our Campus Warriors… you make it happen! Thank you.
Please note that these events are taking place on social media, or on our web site. Like and follow our accounts for access to content and further updates. Additional links to content will be posted in the schedule below throughout the week.
(Please note that some events are subject to change, so we ask for your patience as we make the updates. Direct links to the content (videos, blogs, etc.) will be added as content is made available. And more items may be added throughout the week, so definitely check back often!)
Also, don’t forget that throughout the week there will be over 60 buildings in 30 states participating in our Landmark Lightings! From the famed Empire State Building in the east to Las Vegas City Hall in the west, iconic landmarks across the nation will be lit in the signature blue and green colors in honor of #EDAW. Check out the complete list of 2023 Landmark Lightings.
